NRPUP Vice President Makebi Zulu says Zambians have confidence in his party’s leadership, as demonstrated by the growing number of high-profile endorsements ahead of the August 2026 General Elections.
Mr. Zulu further declared that his party is capable of winning the elections even without putting up a single campaign poster.
Speaking to journalists yesterday, Mr. Zulu said the political playing field has not been level, but despite the challenges, Zambians have surprised the ruling UPND with their overwhelming support for the opposition.
He said that only a few months ago, the UPND was confidently claiming there was no opposition in the country, not realizing that the biggest opposition it would eventually face was the Zambian people themselves.
“You can see the desperation from our colleagues in the UPND. A few months ago, they believed there was no opposition in the country. Little did they know that the Zambian people are the biggest opposition any government can face.”
Mr. Zulu further accused the ruling party of attempting to weaken the opposition by creating confusion and frustrating its efforts to mobilize resources.
“They have sponsored confusion in the opposition for a long time. They have blocked us from mobilising resources, but today, even without a single poster, we can win these General Elections. Look at the people endorsing us—that shows that the Zambian people have hope in us,” he said.
