FRED M’MEMBE LEFT ALONE

M’MEMBE LEFT ALONE

Following the decision by People’s Pact to sever ties with Dr Fred M’membe and revoke his status as their presidential flag bearer for the 2026 general elections, M’membe articulated his thoughts on the significance of standing up for one’s principles, even in isolation.

He said that embodying courage to uphold one’s values is a demanding endeavor but argued that taking a stand for what is right—regardless of the number of supporters—is essential for maintaining personal integrity and fostering genuine change within communities.

M’membe observed that integrity should always take precedence over seeking popularity. He contended that the essence of doing the right thing transcends the goal of winning public approval; rather, it involves the deeper satisfaction of being able to go to sleep at night with a clear conscience, confident that one’s moral compass was honored. This, he suggested, forms the foundation of lasting respect and authentic leadership.

In highlighting the challenges inherent in political and social activism, M’membe underscored that sometimes standing alone is the price one must pay to preserve authenticity. He implied that such decisions, though difficult, ignite meaningful dialogue and inspire communities to re-examine their values and aspirations.
