Release Bill 7 voting records, Mwenye urges Parley


FORMER Attorney General Musa Mwenye has called on the National Assembly to release Bill 7 voting records so that citizens can verify whether any MPs voted against the Bill despite reports that it was passed unanimously. Mwenye’s comments follow President Hakainde Hichilema’s revelation on Saturday that four former UPND MPs Gary Nkombo, Elijah Muchima, Elias Mubanga and Newton Samakayi voted against the Bill. Of the four former UPND MPs, only Mubanga has not publicly responded to the allegations, while Nkombo, Muchima and Samakayi have maintained that they voted in favour of Bill 7.
