ISRAEL ACCUSES SOUTH AFRICA OF FAILING TO TACKLE XENOPHOBIA AS DIPLOMATIC TENSIONS CONTINUE TO ESCALATE

Israel’s Foreign Ministry has publicly criticized South Africa over recent xenophobic violence, accusing the government of failing to protect foreign nationals and not taking sufficient responsibility for the unrest.

In a strongly worded statement, the ministry claimed South Africa’s image as the “Rainbow Nation” was being undermined by attacks targeting foreign nationals. It also criticized Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi, alleging that she made accusations without evidence while trying to shift attention away from the violence.

The comments come amid growing diplomatic tensions between the two countries, with both governments exchanging criticism over recent events. South African authorities have previously rejected allegations that they are not addressing the violence and have defended their response.

The developments add another chapter to the increasingly strained relationship between South Africa and Israel.
