ECZ STARTS 2026 GENERAL ELECTION ACCREDITATION ON JULY 22
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) will begin issuing accreditation cards for the 2026 General Election on 22 July, with the exercise running until 11 August 2026.
The National Accreditation Centre has been designated at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka and will operate daily from 09:00 hours to 17:00 hours.
ECZ says the online accreditation portal remains open for the submission of applications, which are currently being reviewed ahead of the issuance of accreditation cards.
The Commission has also announced that physical accreditation at District Electoral Offices will begin on 25 July 2026, allowing local media and election monitors to apply either online or in person under a hybrid accreditation system.
Meanwhile, political parties and independent candidates have been advised that polling agents are excluded from the online accreditation system. Instead, their accreditation will be conducted physically at District Electoral Offices from 25 July, upon submission of an introductory letter containing the polling agent’s full name, NRC number and assigned polling station.
ECZ has urged all stakeholders to follow the accreditation guidelines to ensure smooth participation in the electoral process.
