Zambian woman dies, gets buried in Oman, after 7-months pregnancy termination
OMAN TALES involving Zambians working in that Country have continued coming out with the latest being of a named woman who died two weeks ago and has been buried on foreign soil.
According to TV Yatu’s Oman sources, the named woman was buried about a week ago after her remains could not be repatriated over circumstances sources allege are connected to her having been illegally in that Country.
The sources say the lady who was in her late 30s, fell pregnant for her Nigerian boyfriend, who subsequently was arrested on allegations of drug trafficking.
They say, after the arrest of her boyfriend, the deceased decided to terminate her seven months pregnancy, a situation that gave birth to other complications and subsequently led to her death.
TV Yatu has been told by sources that, the Zambian Embassy in Saudi Arabia and responsible for Oman was notified of her death and that embassy staff attended her burial in that Country.
The sources say, a clique of the deceased’s friend concealed the real cause of the late’s death, fearing had they divulged the truth, Zambian authorities would not have participated in her burial.
According to the deceased’s clique, the expectant mother died from heart complications.
The sources who are residents of Oman and attended the burial say, the woman was buried in linen, and that, her personal belongings, mostly clothes, have since been brought home, to her family.
On Saturday, TV Yatu sent a press query to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation seeking a comment on this particular matter, the status of the issue of a 24-year-old who cried for rescue and another Zambian citizen detained for filming her employers having sex; however, details have yet to be provided.
