Man Kills Ex-Girlfriend, Hides Body in Bath for Months in US
Matthew Lewinski, 42, strangled his ex Courtney “Jerri” Winters, 52, to death in his bathtub in 2020.
He kept her body in the tub, then later moved it to the basement and dismembered parts of it to hide the evidence.
The case only came out when Lewinski was found walking around his apartment block in his underwear and rushed to hospital. Family who entered his flat discovered Courtney’s remains in the basement.
Police later got a confession from Lewinski in his hospital bed. Courtney had never been reported missing.
This week in Mount Clemens, Michigan, he was found guilty of premeditated murder, disinterment, mutilation of a dead body, and concealing a death.
Court heard the exes argued after Courtney told him she’d had an abortion. It escalated to slaps, a bite, and then he strangled her.
